As we look back on the incredible journey of the ‘Stomp Out the Stigma’ campaign, we are filled with pride and gratitude. This campaign has been a crucial step in raising awareness about mental health challenges, especially in demanding industries like mining. By fostering open conversations and breaking down stigmas, we’ve made significant strides toward creating a more supportive environment for everyone.
In the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of the mining industry, mental health often takes a backseat. The extended periods away from family, high-risk environments, and intense workloads can contribute to stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. Despite this, mental health remains a taboo topic, often overshadowed by the industry’s rugged, tough image. Recognizing the urgent need for change, Crawford Boots and Dirty Hole Designs have joined forces to launch the ‘Stomp Out the Stigma’ campaign. This initiative aims to raise awareness, break down stigmas, and foster a supportive community for those facing mental health challenges.
The idea for ‘Stomp Out the Stigma’ was born from a shared commitment to improving the well-being of individuals in the mining sector. Both Crawford Boots, known for their durable and reliable footwear, and Dirty Hole Designs, a creative powerhouse in mining-themed apparel, realized the powerful impact they could make together. ‘Stomp Out the Stigma’ is more than just a campaign; it’s a movement towards a culture of support and understanding within the mining industry. By addressing mental health openly and compassionately, we can create a safer, healthier environment for all. The slogan “Zip up your Boots and Stomp out the Stigma” encapsulates this mission, urging everyone to take a stand against the stigma surrounding mental health.
All funds raised throughout the campaign will go to The Black Dog Institute whose expertise in mental health research and intervention ensures that the campaign’s efforts are grounded in evidence-based practices. Crawford Boots and Dirty Hole Designs have organized a series of activities and engagement strategies encouraging those in the mining industry to become a partner in this important initiative.
